The major road leading into the hometown of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Otuoke in Bayelsa State, has been covered by flood waters, reports say.
The
road which links Azikoro-Agbura-Onuebum-Otuoke has been completely
submerged leading residents to pass a longer route to avoid being
overwhelmed by the flood, according to Vanguard.
“It will be a suicide mission for a small vehicle to go through the flood,” a driver, simply identified as Dadiowei said.
“There
are so many craters on the submerged road that could prove fatal for
somebody not conversant with the road. I almost lost control of my car
on Monday when I drove through the flooded portion,” he added.
Jonathan relocated to his hometown after losing the March 28 presidential elections to President Muhammadu Buhari.
