Crisis Looms In Adamawa APC As Senators Tackle Gov Jibrilla

Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been engulfed in a crisis over the control of the party’s soul between Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla on one hand and other stakeholders, including the three senators of the party and the secretary to the federal government (SGF).

The latest crisis was the climax to a prolonged subterranean war of attrition and uneasy calm between the two sides over time.

But the silent war came to the open by the latest visit of the three senators from the state to the leadership of Shuaibu Yamusa. Recall that Yamusa as the deputy chairman of the party took over the leadership of the party as acting chairman after the then chairman of the party, Binta Masi Garba relinquished her position to pursue her senatorial ambition.

LEADERSHIP Friday reports that there has been no love lost between Adamawa State government under Governor Jibrilla and Yamusa’s led party exco as the former was believed to be cold in its dealings with the latter.

The endorsement and recognition of the Yamusa’s led exco by the senators has according to sources close to the Government House rattled the governor who sees the action as a direct affront on his leadership of the party.

The governor has however endorsed Ezra Dimas as the acting state chairman of the party as he virtually takes him to every function he attends contrary to the governor’s attitude towards Yamusa who was relegated to the background in the scheme of things in the stat
