Wike ‘Election riggers are armed robbers,’ Governor says

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Rivers State GovernorNyesom Wike has warned that anyone caught rigging elections in the state would be treated like an armed robber.
Wike also urged prospective election riggers to prepare their wills before coming into the state, PM News reports.
“Anyone who plans to rig an election is an armed robber and should be treated as such,” he said.
“If you are coming to rig an election in the state, first prepare your will before embarking on the journey. Inform your wife or husband and go ahead to say your last prayer.
“When they used the security forces in Bayelsa State, it didn’t work. It will also not work here in Rivers State. Rivers State is a peaceful state and our people are peace loving. We want to remain so,” he added.
Wike has also reportedly announced that every January 27 would be observed as a work-free day in the state to commemorate his Supreme Court victory.
The Supreme Court ruled on January 27, 2016, that Wike had been duly elected as governor of the state during the April 11 elections.
